This gigantic animal is 5 cm high and from the claws to the tail tip 7 cm long. I needed over 30 hours to finish it.
I got the idea for the colour scheme from another painter, chiefly because she had catched the typical crocodile features,
as the lighter belly or the drawing, very well. Moreover I wanted to see what my version would look like in similar colours,
but in my own style. I must say that both versions look very good to me. You can take a look at the other miniature on
the website of Crocodile Games.
The ground consists of a large Warmachine base. I removed the plate that builds
the ground and retained only the external ring. I needed more depth for the swampy ground because it should not swell
over the rim of the base. Therefore I made myself a thin disk out of Fimo and glued this directly to the ground of the
ring. After I had applied a thin layer of putty, I drilled carefully two holes for the crocodile and set it with its
pins onto the base. This was followed by a second layer of putty that was churned with a toothpick back and forth
to create a swamp like ground, while it is still wet. The stones and the skull were added at the end.
Two holes for the fern (of the company “Busch”) and the grass followed, they were secured with super glue.
After that the entire base was painted and after the drying covered with a layer of model water from “Noch”.
